چکیده

Abstract The validation of many anuran species is based on a strictly descriptive, morphological analysis small number specimens with limited geographic distribution. Scinax Wagler, 1830 genus controversial group doubtful taxa and taxonomic uncertainties, due high cryptic species. One example the pair constrictus nebulosus, which share similar morphology. restricted to Brazilian Cerrado savanna, while S. nebulosus widely distributed throughout northern South America. Despite species, discriminations only traits quite difficult conservative morphology some groups. In this context, present study uses mitochondrial nuclear genes provide more consistent diagnosis test validity as distinct from well evaluate position these within genus. topologies obtained herein uphold monophyletic status all molecular markers assessed in study, analytical approaches, levels statistical support.

Cytogenetic analysis of Scinax auratus and Scinax eurydice (Anura, Hylidae) with emphasis on cytotaxonomy

Scinax Wagler, 1830 is a species-rich genus of amphibians with relatively few detailed chromosomal reports. In this work, cytogenetic analyses of Scinaxauratus (Wied-Neuwied, 1821) and Scinaxeurydice (Bokermann, 1968) were carried out based on conventional (Giemsa staining, Ag-NOR and C-banding) and cytomolecular (base-specific fluorochrome staining and fluorescence in situ hybridization - FISH...

Cytogenetic studies in six species of Scinax (Anura, Hylidae) clade Scinax ruber from northern and northeastern Brazil

Scinax species are still underrepresented in cytogenetic studies, mainly with respect to populations from northeastern and northern Brazil. In this study, we provide new chromosomal information on Scinax boesemani, S. camposseabrai, S. garbei, S. pachycrus, S. trilineatus and S. x-signatus, all belonging to clade S. ruber. They were collected at two locations in the Caatinga biome (northeastern...
